My story

Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 06/04/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Raleigh Puppy Mill bust Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Archie is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 06/16/25 Archie had a dental with multiple extractions. He will need regular dental exams and cleanings. Archie arrived in rescue from poor conditions. He and all the dogs in the home have been proactively treated for mange. Our best guess is that Archie is a maltese, but he came from a puppy mill where there were also chihuahuas and pomeranians. We cannot guarantee that he is hypoallergenic or that he won't shed. Weight: 5.8 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Archie is best suited for a home that’s ready for big laughs, constant companionship, and a dog who thinks your lap is the center of the universe. He’s great with other small dogs, adores human attention, and will absolutely melt your heart on a daily basis. What is my personality like? Meet Archie – Small Dog, Big Personality, Total World Conqueror! Don’t let his size fool you—Archie may be tiny, but in his mind, he’s already taken over the world. And to be honest - he probably has and we’re all pretty okay with it. Archie is a pocket-sized pup with BIG main character energy. He walks (okay, struts) through life like he owns it, and he probably does. People - He loves them. Other small dogs - Obsessed. Attention - All his. Playtime - He's the star of the show. His past - Please—he left that in the dust the moment he got a taste of the good life. This little guy came into rescue with some skin issues, poor living conditions and all that; but the second treatment began, Archie never looked back. No pity party here—just a determined, snack-motivated fluffball on a mission to live his best life AND conquer the world. He’s all about cuddles, food, and quality time with YOU—in that order. Sit down for one second, and Archie will appear in your lap like he teleported. We think he's magic! Open the fridge - he’s got notes, knows when the snacks need replenished. Try to walk to the bathroom alone - Absolutely not. You now have a full-time, pint-sized supervisor. Archie is great with other dogs and loves a canine companion, but he’d also do just fine soaking up the spotlight as your one and only. Archie’s happiness isn’t dependent on a four-legged friend—it’s dependent on love, attention, and snacks (lots of snacks). From you to him. He's all about acts of service. Now, about that leash life… Archie has notes. Mostly: “Why walk when I could be carried like the royalty I clearly am!” He’s still figuring out the whole leash thing, but honestly, he’d prefer you just tuck him under your arm like the living, breathing teddy bear he is. He’s lightweight, portable, and goes with any outfit. So, if you’re looking for a dog who’s overcome his past, conquered the present, and has his sights set on your couch (and your snacks), Archie is your guy. Small in size. Huge in charm. Fully prepared to steal your heart. How do I act when I first meet new people? Hey friend! Archie is READY to meet you and hang out! Other tips and tidbits: Based on his overall health and condition Archie is estimated at 7 years old. We celebrate his birthday 06/04/2018. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. June 29, 2025, 9:21 am
