Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue:12/7/24 Reason for being in rescue: Stray Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Liz is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 12/11/24, Liz had a dental with extractions. She has been a hot mess with us but a very loving, sweet hot mess. Lizzie has lost 3 lbs since coming to rescue. This is not from exercising but from simply making sure she has an appropriate amount of food and treats. She also had the dental which means she can eat a better-quality food. Our vet first thought Liz could have Cushing's but with the weight loss and because it's been very difficult to get a urine sample (which means she holds her urine well) we no longer think so. Her eyes are non-visual. Whether they should be removed or not is going to be up to her new guardian. We prefer to leave them in and manage with regular rewetting drops. They could be removed. She is a sweet, happy little girl who likes to sleep in the sun. Weight: 13.5 lbs and could still go down about 1/2 pound Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $1 I am priceless! Fence needed? No, Liz is an indoor girl, except when she wants to sunbathe. What kind of home would be best for me? Meet Liz an incredibly sweet senior girl who adores everyone she meets. Liz is looking for a calm, loving home where she can spend her Golden Years in peace and comfort. With limited vision, Liz needs a patient household that will help her learn her surroundings and safely navigate her new environment. She may not see clearly, but her heart shines bright. Liz’s small size, mellow temperament, and love for naps make her a great fit for many living situations — whether it’s an apartment or a house. She would do especially well with someone who is home most of the day, such as a retiree, a couple, or someone who works from home. Due to her age and sensory limitations, a home without young children would be best. She’d be fine with older, respectful kids (14+). If you’re looking for a loyal, low-maintenance companion who values naps, cuddles, and quiet time over high-energy adventures, Liz may just be your perfect match. What is my personality like? Liz is calm, sweet, and thrives in a peaceful, laid-back environment. Liz came to us as a stray, rescued by a kind-hearted Good Samaritan. When she arrived, she was in rough shape — a bit of a hot mess, but a loving one through and through. Despite her challenges, nothing dims her gentle, affectionate spirit. Since then, we’ve cleaned her up and taken care of some dental issues, including having three teeth removed. She’s feeling much better now and is ready to find a forever home filled with warmth, care, and companionship. As the saying goes, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks,” and Liz agrees wholeheartedly. She prefers lounging in a sunny spot over learning new commands or going on long walks. What she’s really looking for is a calm, easygoing environment with loving people to share her time with. How do I act when I first meet new people? Liz is always happy to meet new friends — though she prefers to stay put and let you come to her. Other tips and tidbits: Liz was found as a stray so we have absolutely no history on her. Based on her overall health and condition she is estimated at 10.5 years old. We celebrate her birthday 12/7/2014. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. May 24, 2025, 1:26 pm
