My story

Dog Name: Qiao Breed: Pomeranian mix Sex: neutered male Age: 12 years Weight: 11 pounds but needs to gain weight Medical Needs: on 6-26 Qiao had a dental procedure with 6 extractions. He has about 7 days worth of an antibiotic and a pain killer which is typical after this kind of procedure. We have been feeding wet food only, but he does manage dry biscuit type treats fine and could probably handle a mix of wet and dry food. Other than that, no medical needs. Due to his age, a daily joint supplement would be recommended however. Housebroken: yes, on a schedule. He will also pace near the door if he needs to go out again. Crate trained: he doesn't like his crate, it takes him about an hour to relax if he's in there. He hasn't shown any destructive behaviors when not crated however. Good in the car: yes, he rides secured in a car seat. As long as he's seated high enough to see the view, he's happy. Good on a leash: wonderful on a leash, 10/10 Energy level: low Need a fenced in yard: no Dog Friendly: yes but would do best in a home with another older or lower energy dog. Being an only child would also work for Qiao. If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No Cat Friendly? Not tested, but doesn't show any interest in the stray neighborhood cats. Kid Friendly: Qiao has met children on our walks, and when waiting in the lobby at the vets office. When kids get rowdy, Qiao will look at his human in disbelief. Eventually he will start to bark at them if they don't settle down. If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Due to his age and size, older children only, teenagers specifically. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Qiao is the sweetest, most handsome, older gentleman! He just wants to be snoozing next to his humans. Don't let his age fool you though, he loves walks and trotting around my yard. He does make it known when he's done with the outdoors and wants to enjoy the A/C. He will go straight back in and yap at you until you get back in the house and "close this door, stop letting the hot air in!" Qiao is a perfect companion for someone who enjoys peace and quiet.
