My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ZOUT hails from the Northern community of Mishkeegogamang and came south with his siblings (Fennel, Cardamom, Anise and Saffron) to find his forever family. He’s received his first set of vaccines, a microchip, dewormer and been deemed a healthy boy by his vet. We have a picture of his mum and she’s a white Husky of around 50lbs and we can only assume dad was a Lab due to the colouring of 2 of his siblings. Dad’s breed is just a guess though and we really don’t know his breed or what size he was. This laid back, chill boy has a lovely soft coat and a loving nature. He loves to play with the many dog toys he has in his foster home and he has a Nyla bone to chew on to help with his teething. ZOUT is crate trained and sleeps quietly in it at night and will also nap in it during the day too. House training is still a work in progress and he will go on a pee pad in the home if he isn’t taken outside quickly enough. He’s just started to go on walks and it’s slow going as he has never worn a collar or leash before. He’s also slowly learning that he can go to the bathroom while outside on her walks too. ZOUT’s ideal family would be an active one that loves to go on hikes and walks in the woods. He does well in a vehicle so will always be up for a drive and especially if it leads to an adventure for him. He should do well in a home with another dog seeing as he’s a puppy and accepting of other dogs. He hasn’t met a cat but if there’s one in the home that’s dog savvy then they should get along. We always recommend a slow and monitored introduction to other animals in the home while the new dog is kept leashed. He should do well as an only pet in the home provided be’s not left alone for long periods of time. Children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be loving and gentle towards animals. He does require a fenced-in yard so he can be kept safe while he has a run around and play. Puppies are cute, playful and fun but also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We do need his adopter to be in agreement to take him for puppy/obedience training to help him to become the best boy possible. His neuter is included in his adoption fee and his potential adopter must be in agreement to have him neutered by the time he’s 9 months of age or 60lbs (whichever comes first.) The surgery will be at the Barrie SPCA but you can use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it there. In order for the rescue to do so we need the neuter requirements to still be followed plus a copy of the procedure invoice and a picture of him (preferably in a cone) in order to do the reimbursement. We do post the picture on our fb page along with other pets that were “fixed” in the same week.  If ZOUT sounds like he’ll suit your family and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet him.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 29, 2025, 5:37 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt ZOUT, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
