My story

Introducing Shasta, the perfect blend of sugar and spice! This beautiful girl was transferred to us from another rescue at the end of June along with her seven siblings: Apollo, Aspen, Denali, Forest, Fuji, McKinley, and River. Each one is special, but Shasta has a sparkle all her own. Raised in a loving foster home, Shasta’s foster mom describes her as incredibly sweet and full of personality. She absolutely adores attention and thrives on affection — whether it’s cuddles, belly rubs, or just being near her people. But don’t let her soft side fool you — when playtime starts, Shasta is right in the mix, keeping up with her boisterous brothers and never missing a beat. She definitely can keep up with the boys! Foster Mom’s Notes: Shasta is such a sweet, playful girl who loves people. She’s affectionate, outgoing and she can definitely hold her own in a wrestling match with her brothers. She’s got a ton of love to give and always wants to be part of the action. About the Breed: * As a Great Pyrenees / Anatolian Shepherd Mix, Shasta is expected to grow into a large dog, likely 85–100+ lbs at maturity. This mix is known for being: * Loyal, devoted and protective of their families * Independent and intelligent * Moderately active with bursts of playful energy * Calm indoors, but they need room to roam and regular exercise * These are guardian breeds at heart, which means Shasta will need early socialization, consistent training and a home with space to stretch her legs. * She’ll thrive with a family that can offer both love and structure. If you’re ready for a smart, affectionate, playful pup who will grow into a loyal, majestic companion — Shasta might be the perfect girl for you. The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A meet-and-greet is required for all shelter dogs if you already have a dog. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Shasta, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
