Say hello to Apollo — a sweet, soulful pup with a champion's spirit and a heart as big as his paws! Apollo arrived at our shelter at the end of June as part of a transfer from another rescue, along with his siblings: Aspen, Denali, Forest, Fuji, McKinley, River, and Shasta. Upon arrival, Apollo was diagnosed with Parvo, but this brave boy showed us just how strong he is by powering through treatment like the true fighter he is. 💪🐶 Now healthy and thriving, Apollo has been growing up in one of our wonderful foster homes where he’s been lovingly socialized. He’s playful, curious and full of charm. And shhh… don’t tell the others, but his foster mom says he’s secretly her favorite. 💕 🐶 Foster Mom’s Report: Apollo is such a sweet, chill and playful boy. He’s may be the biggest of the litter by weight, but he’s also the biggest baby. He loves to crawl into your lap or nap under your chair. He'll follow you all around the backyard and adores playing in the water. He’s got the perfect balance of being energetic with his brothers and mellow when it’s time to rest. About the Breed: Apollo is a Great Pyrenees / Anatolian Shepherd Mix, which means: * He’s going to be BIG — likely over 100 lbs when full-grown. * These breeds are known for being gentle giants, loyal, independent thinkers, and natural guardians. * They do best with space to roam and active families who understand large-breed needs. * They're smart and may have a stubborn streak — early training and socialization are key! Apollo has all the makings of a wonderful family companion — affectionate and deeply loving. Whether he’s romping with his siblings or snuggling by your feet, he’s happiest just being near his people. If you're ready for a loving shadow with a wagging tail (and possibly a paw in your pool), Apollo just might be your perfect match. The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A meet-and-greet is required for all shelter dogs if you already have a dog. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Apollo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
