My story

Jenny – Available for Adoption Sit back, relax. Put your feet up. We have a story for you. This story will certainly not be told as well as how Joni told stories, but we will try. In April, a long time BFF follower reached out to let us know about a pregnant cat in her yard that she was feeding. Sure enough BFF went to rescue her, found her very pregnant and set her up in our nursery. Ten days later, Jenny gave birth to 6 kittens (unfortunately 2 were stillborn). Then the devastating news that our founder, Joni Nelson, passed away. As we were scrambling, wondering what we were going to do about BFF and the cats in our care, another long time BFF follower and volunteer let us know about another pregnant cat – this one orange – we all know how much Joni loved her orange kitties – so off we went to rescue this cat. As it turned out, this cat was feral, not friendly like Jenny, but we set up another nursery for her (Pudding). Pudding was on her third litter. Pudding also lost her previous kittens for unknown reasons – all but one survived, we were told. Two days after rescue Pudding started the process of giving birth. Pudding was having difficulty but being feral made it near impossible to intercept. Her foster watched and when it was obvious that things were going downhill fast she scooped up the kittens and trapped the feral and got them to the vet office (sounds easy, but it wasn’t.) Of her five kittens, only two survived. And mama was anemic. She was spayed right away due to the issues she was experiencing. After weighing the pros and cons, the 2 babies were introduced to Jenny and luckily she accepted them as her own. She has been a dedicated mama and we now have 6 healthy kittens who will soon be put up for adoption. But this post is dedicated to Jenny. The warrior princess who saved the day by accepting Pudding’s babies. We want her to have the most deserving home where she can be given all the attention. Jenny is approximately 1-2 years old and is scheduled to be fixed and vetted. If you are interested in meeting her, contact Boston's Forgotten Felines on Facebook or at catadoptions@bostonsforgottenfelines.org

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Jenny, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
