My story

When Missy first arrived at the shelter, she didn’t understand why her world had suddenly changed. Just a year old, the sweet-natured Basset Hound had been living in a home, until she went into heat. Instead of being spayed and cared for, Missy was surrendered. Confused and scared, she pressed her long ears to the floor and tried to make sense of it all.But even with her world turned upside down, Missy’s gentle spirit shined through. She had those classic Basset eyes, the kind that seem to hold a thousand stories and a tail that still wagged when someone gave her a soft word or a kind scratch behind the ears. It didn’t take long for the shelter staff to fall in love with her. We knew Missy deserved more than a second chance, she deserved someone who would see her as family, not as an inconvenience.
