Zazu

My story

Meet Zazu, a sweet ~5 year old neutered male chihuahua/small terrier mix, weighing about 15 lbs! Zazu was picked up as a stray by animal control in East TN. This poor boy was neglected, his nails were curled and growing INTO his paw pads Thankfully a TN foster stepped up so we could get him out of AC and risk of euthanasia. Now he is heading north to find his furever home!  Zazu is a little timid at first, but he warms up quickly. He is good with other dogs, people, and kids. He has not been cat tested, but we feel he would probably do fine with cats. He is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save.
