My story

Meet Casper – the Friendly Fluffstermonster (aka The Ghost of Good Boys Past) Are you missing something in your life? Something big? Something fluffy? Something that occasionally blocks out the sun when he walks past the window? Let us introduce you to Casper, our 100+-pound cloud of love in motion. At just 16 months old, Casper is still basically a teenager—with all the charm, none of the angst, and way better floof. He's a Great Pyrenees, which means he was born with the noble soul of a livestock guardian… but these days, he’s more into guarding your couch, your heart, and occasionally the neighbor’s Amazon packages (just by lying near them—he’s not a thief, just intimidatingly majestic). -Friendly? Oh yes. Casper greets strangers like long-lost cousins and will happily let you brush his endless coat while he contemplates the mysteries of the universe (or squirrels). - Easy to walk? Shockingly, yes! He struts around like he’s on a Paris runway, except with more drool and fewer high heels. - Needs a fence? Definitely. Casper’s inner GPS occasionally forgets the route home—plus, he thinks “wanderlust” is his birthright. While Casper is an absolute sweetheart, breed experience is a plus—because this isn’t your average dog, this is a majestic snow beast with opinions. He may look like a big teddy bear, but he’s got a stubborn streak longer than his tail. You don’t train a Pyr—you negotiate. With treats. And a convincing PowerPoint. If you’re ready to share your life with a giant marshmallow who will love you unconditionally, lean on you (literally), and maybe block your TV now and then, Casper’s your guy. Apply now—Casper’s waiting, and he’s already practicing his “casually lounging like royalty” pose for your living room. If interested, please call the shelter at 231-861-5395 and leave a message to be placed on this dog's adoption list. No obligation, but it reserves your place in line on the list. The shelter will contact individuals as they appear on the list. Ask about adoption transportation assistance if you do not live in the local area. The adoption fee is $95 and you receive certificates for $50 towards spay/neuter and $10 towards rabies vaccine if not already done. All dogs are heartworm tested, receive a DHLPP, flea and tick treatment, a bordetella vaccination and are dewormed.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Casper, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
