My story

Meet Calypso!Calypso is a three year old Chihuahua mix, who was the best mamma to her 4 pups, `who have all been adopted. NOW, it`s momma turn. Calypso is the best companion as she loves to be by your side. She loves to play with other small dogs or by herself with her toys. She is also just fine cuddling on the couch with you!! She also loves being with and playing with children. However, Calypso is not sure about men. She barks, growls and bites at her foster mom`s husband, but her foster thinks it is because Calypso is being protective of her. Initially, Calypso was super protective of her babies, and now that they have been adopted she has become protective of her foster mom. She does warm up to women quicker than men, so she will need an adopter who is patient and allow her time to become comfortable and get used to her surroundings and people. When Calypso first arrived at her foster`s house she was very scared, and would even crouch down in fear when her name was called. She is doing better now and will come when called. She still gets nervous and will shake in new situations and when scared. Calypso is house trained, crate trained and walks well on a leash. She has been spayed and is current with all her vaccines. Calypso is ready to find her forever home and will make a wonderful loving family dog, so long as she is given time to adjust to her surroundings and given patience to warm up to people. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquires but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Calypso, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
