My story

Tigris is a young, 51-pound pup bursting with personality, joy, and love. This handsome boy is full of charm and enthusiasm. He has a playful bounce in his step and may greet you with an excited hop to say hello—he just really loves people. Tigris already knows “sit” and is showing great obedience. He walks well on leash, and is always ready to roll over for a good belly rub or cuddle session. He’s food-motivated and eager to learn, which makes training a breeze. He’s the perfect blend of energy and affection, and with a little consistency and direction, he’s going to make an incredible companion.Tigris spent a few nights in a temporary foster home, and he slept soundly through the night and was fully housebroken—no accidents at all. During the day, he was typically content lounging around or taking a peaceful nap - with a few playful bursts here and there. This sweet pup is the perfect mix of chill and playful. Tigris enjoyed chewing on toys, and left the household items alone. He did well when left alone crated while his foster ran errands.Tigris has become a fan favorite on Dog’s Day Out adventures—and it’s easy to see why! Whether he’s enjoying ice cream, hiking trails, exploring the city or strolling through a park, this sweet boy takes it all in stride with curiosity and calm. On one of his outings, he even went shopping and showed excellent manners when meeting kids. At the end of the day, he seems the most content hanging out and cuddling on the couch. At the shelter, Tigris has met other dogs and enjoys playtime, and he does best with tolerant canine companions. He’ll need to meet any potential doggie roommates to ensure it’s a good match. He’s also eligible to return to BARCS for dog social sessions to continue building positive experiences. His experience with kids and cats is currently unknown, but our adoption team is happy to walk you through the acclimation process.Tigris is the kind of dog who will bring energy, love, and loyalty to his future home. With just a little patience and guidance, he’s sure to thrive and become a wonderful companion. If you`re looking for a buddy to join you on walks, snuggle on the couch, and brighten your days, Tigris might be the one you’ve been waiting for.I`m a VIP because I`m still learning, and the shelter can be a tough place for dogs like me to shine. But I’ve got a whole team cheering me on!Here are a few things the staff and volunteers are helping me with:

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Tigris, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
