This beautiful Boxer girl is as sweet as they come—her previous family describes her as incredibly friendly, affectionate, and full of love to give. With her signature ears that stand up like little satellite dishes, she’s got a look that’ll melt your heart and a personality to match. Winter is playful and full of energy, always ready for fun or a romp around the yard—but when the excitement winds down, she’s all about cuddling up with you on the couch. She’s happiest when she’s close to her people and is known for leaning in for pets and affection. She’s done great with kids and previously lived with another dog who, unfortunately, would bully her. Because of that, Winter would do best with a dog who is respectful of her space and boundaries. She’s almost fully housebroken and just needs a consistent schedule to help her stay on track. You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available dogs in the shelter. (Dogs in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the dog first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a dog for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available for puppies under six months, on Saturdays, or during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations - heartworm test -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter -treatment of fleas & ticks -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your pet.
