My story

?? Meet Castiel ?? Castiel is a handsome, 5-year-old mixed breed who recently came back to PAC on 6/23/25 due to life changes in his previous family. He was originally adopted from us as a puppy and has grown up knowing love and a home. Now, he’s hoping for a second chance at forever.* Personality & TemperamentVery friendly once he has time to warm up-Lived peacefully with other dogs, cats, and a young child-High energy—loves treats, playtime, and learning new things-Knows “sit” and sleeps in his kennel at night* A Few Special Notes-Storm anxiety and car anxiety—he will need patience and understanding during stressful moments-Not a fan of nail trims—prefers to run away rather than fuss-Benefits from positive reinforcement, a predictable routine, and lots of encouragement* Behavior Assessment Highlights-Cage Presentation: Slightly worried at first—just needs time to feel safe-Sociability Test: Grade A across all parts—friendly once comfortable (8 points total)- Toy Test: Not very interested in toys during the assessment- Food Test: Grade A responses—gentle and appropriate- Dog to Dog Test: Excellent communication and polite greetings (Grade A)* Ideal HomeCastiel will thrive with:- A patient adopter who understands he may take time to settle in- Daily exercise and mental activities to keep his smart mind busy- A calm environment with loving guidance-Someone ready to help him build confidence and feel safe again*After 5 years in a home, Castiel deserves a soft landing and a family ready to love him for who he is—an affectionate, loyal, goofy companion with a big heart.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt CASTIEL, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
