My story

Rusty is fostered in Flint, MI. Meet Rusty – Your Future Agility Star & Adventure Buddy!  Rusty is a (almost) 2 year old male Australian Shepherd.  He currently weights approximately 45 lbs.  Looking for a dog who’s as smart as he is stunning?  Rusty is  bursting with life, love, and potential. He is the total package – house-trained, crate trained, polite and always ready to impress. Whether it’s on the agility course or a hiking trail, Rusty is up for the challenge.  This boy was born to have a job. He thrives on structure, activity, and mental stimulation.  Agility, herding, or dog sports such as barn hunt and scent work would be right up his alley. Rusty would do best with an active person or family who understands the Aussie mindset: smart, energetic, and always looking for a purpose.   Despite his energy, Rusty is a total gentleman in the home. He’s not a counter surfer, doesn’t get into the trash, and can totally be trusted when left alone. He’s also crate trained, making transitions and travel a breeze. Rusty can be a bit of a talker – he’ll happily “chat” with you to share his thoughts, especially when he’s excited or ready to go on an adventure!  When the day winds down, he’ll lean right in for love because Rusty adores physical affection, leaning in for pets, belly rubs, and cuddle time like a pro.  He is even great with cats.   If you’re looking for a loyal teammate with a heart of gold, a strong work ethic, and a big personality, Rusty is your guy.
