Ali first came to ACCT Philly in September 2022 after being found as a stray. When she returned to the shelter in June 2025, she was in rough shape—frightened, dehydrated, and suffering from a painful embedded harness wound under her left front leg. Despite this trauma, Ali never showed aggression, only fear and confusion, pulling away gently from touch and retreating into corners. Since those early days, Ali has shown incredible resilience and heart. With time and patience, she has blossomed into a loving, gentle dog who now greets familiar faces with a wagging tail and soft eyes. Volunteers describe her as a “perfect lady” on leash, affectionate, respectful of space, and a “sweetie pie” who takes treats gently and listens attentively. Her soft demeanor and eagerness to please make her a standout companion. Ali has been polite and tolerant in playgroup evaluations, showing interest in meeting other dogs despite some initial nerves. She prefers calmer energy and has done well with similarly gentle dogs. Was somewhat anxious in the outdoor pen - circling. Seemed willing to meet other dogs, even Boss who was not very polite. Had a nice interaction with Koko - met through fence, parallel walked, went into large pen together, but she was super hot so we took her back. 06/27/2025 per staff: Ali was easy to leash and had a wagging tail and loose body. she pulled minimal and walked towards everyone submissively with a smile. in the room she was a gentle dainty girl and lightly zoomed around me, not wanting to be too rowdy or jump on me. she stopped dead in her tracks before my body to not bombard me. she is so gentle and sweet, taking possession to toys and then dropped them quickly. Gold 06/27/2025 adjusting waivers due to improvement in behavior. Volunteer 6/26- Ali is an absolute angel on earth. She was sitting in her kennel, waiting patiently for me to greet her. She allowed me to leash her easily & walked like a perfect lady. She is beauty and Grace. She takes treats super gently and will walk closely to you and sit whenever you ask. She’s such a sweetie pie and would make the perfect addition to any home. 06/26/2025 Playgroup notes: scared, tense BL, not interested in greeting at the gate, avoidant, fearful, did not give correction 06/23/2025 per staff: Really scared, kept running away but was able to use a control stick once she was tired and did not reacted badly to being on a stick / leash .
