Scoobert

My story

Scoobert was found tied up at Lanier Playground and brought to safety by a kind family who discovered him late at night. They kept him safe inside their home until ACCT staff could arrive. He had no microchip, but it was clear this large brown pittie mix was friendly and eager for connection from the start. Since arriving at the shelter, Scoobert has shown a gentle, inquisitive nature. In playgroup, he was steerable with water, loose at the gate, and though initially timid to enter the yard, he gradually relaxed and greeted several dogs with polite curiosity. Volunteers describe him as treat-motivated (and a true gentleman when taking them), calm, and simply content to enjoy quiet moments outdoors. While he isn't overly playful yet, he clearly appreciates companionship—both canine and human. He allowed me to leash him easy and was a great loose leash walker. We had a similar interest, we both love treats! He was a tiny bit snatched with them but he showed me what a pro he was by catching them in the air. He was the cutest face & his tail didn’t stop wiggling the entire time we were together. Per volunteer 6/25: Scoobert seemed very excited to get some time out of his kennel!!! Scoobert enjoys treats and takes them gently. I tried to steer Scoobert toward the pool and sprinkler but he was happiest to just sit outside with me. We walked a little on the grass which Scoobert enjoyed. 06/23/2025 Playgroup notes: Steerable with water, loose at the gate, timid to go into the yard, interested/ curious, did eventually loosen up and explored the yard and gave greetings to multiple dogs.
