My story

From his foster family:`Name: Bob. (aka Robert, Roberto, Mr. Soft Paws)Type: Tall, dark and handsome male tabby catSleep preferences: During the day, Bob prefers to get cozy on soft fleece blankets, on the couch or on the carpet. At night, he enjoys sleeping next to his human on the bed.People preferences: Bob gets along well with adult, teen and elementary aged humans.Social preferences: Bob is a social cat. He likes to be near his humans and will hang out wherever they are. Will only hide if scared. Bob has lived with two other cats in his foster home. The longer he hung out with his foster siblings, the more he liked them. He would occasionally nap near the other cats and would initiate playful games of chase. It`s expected that Bob could live in a household with other cats if provided a slow introduction.Hobbies: Sitting near a low window to watch the squirrels and birds. Playing with little toy catnip mice. Looking super cute when napping. Having his chin and neck rubbed.Dislikes: Getting picked up, Being put into a cat carrier, Going to the vet.`While in our care, Bob was diagnosed with diabetes, and currently requires twice a day insulin injections. Consistency is essential in managing diabetes, and any potential adopters will want to make sure that they feel comfortable and capable helping him to manage this lifelong condition. Bob is thriving on a high protein, low carbohydrate diet to help manage his blood sugar, and will need regular visits with his veterinarian to make sure he stays in tip top shape.Bob can be a little feisty, and due to being front declawed, has a tendency to use his mouth to communicate, so it`s not recommended for him to go to a home with young children. If handsome Bob sounds like the perfect addition to your home, please send us an email to schedule a meet-and-greet at the shelter with his foster family, today! This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? For Bob, it’s a 14-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff! If you`d like to meet our available animals, please check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton).
