He is a major cuddle bug, and his idea of heaven is being curled up right next to you, preferably with belly and back rubs. His foster family lives in an apartment, and he’s proven to be a great apartment dog! Mr. Scootch enjoys daily walks, hanging out with his fur foster brother, and curling up next to his humans for a good snuggle. He’s happy being near his people but is also content lounging on his dog bed for solo downtime. Mr. Scootch does well with other dogs, big and small alike, and he is respectful of cats. While not toy-obsessed, he’ll engage in a quick fetch session and thoroughly enjoys chewing tasty bones. He walks well on a leash and loves to “scootch” his back legs back after marking outside. If you’re looking for help landscaping, he’s your guy! Mr. Scootch does have some separation anxiety and struggles with being crated. He’s currently left uncrated when home alone with his foster brother and does well in that setup. While he enjoys the company of other dogs, he doesn’t necessarily need another dog in the home. What’s most important is a family that understands his anxiety and can provide him with a safe, stable environment. He’s house‑trained but may mark indoors in a new setting. His foster family uses belly bands and is helping him learn to mark outside consistently. Mr. Scootch can get nervous around young children. He’s fine walking by parks as long as children are at a comfortable distance (5–10 feet or more), but he’s not comfortable with close contact. Because of this, he’d do best in an adult-only home or one with older, respectful teenagers. If you’re looking for a low-key, loyal pup who lives for cuddles and companionship, Mr. Scootch is your perfect match. Mr. Scootch is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application today! All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted. August 3, 2025, 3:57 pm
