My story

Hi everyone. I’m Mitzi. I’m a petite girl, around 55 lbs. By best guestimates, I’m about 2 yrs old. I was abandoned by my previous owner, but fortunately, I was left in a neighborhood with some really nice people. One of those nice people is now my Foster Dad. He took me to my foster brother’s Vet for a checkup and had all of my vaccinations updated. I also tested heartworm negative. I am now on preventative for flea, tic, heartworm, roundworm & hookworm. I do well with other dogs. I really love my foster brother. He’s much older and much bigger than I am, but he seems to tolerate my playfulness (which I love to do… A LOT), and he lets me snuggle with him when Dad is watching TV. And when I’m not snuggling with my foster brother, I snuggle with Dad. Did I mention I like to snuggle? I am fully house trained. Since being here, I have had no accidents. Not sure about crate trained as my foster dad lets me & my brother have run of the house. I listen well to basic commands and do really well on a leash. I love car rides, playing ball and squeaky toys. Not sure how well I would be with cats since Dad doesn’t have any. With that said, squirrels drive me crazy, so for that reason, Dad thinks whoever adopts me, would have to have a lot of patients to train me to be around cats. I’m also good around new people, both adults and children. Dad took me to his family reunion where there were many people. I just loved all the attention they gave me. And the kids were great! They played ball with me all day! All Lani’s Lucky Shepherds receive an individual examination by a local veterinarian, are current on vaccinations, spay or neutered, microchipped, and tested for heart worms and other intestinal worms and parasites. All incoming dogs receive Drontal Plus de-wormer or its equivalent as an extra precautionary step to go above and beyond to keep our rescued dogs healthy. We feed our rescue dogs high quality dog food and supplements while they live in our foster homes. All these costs are paid for by our rescue. You won’t have to pay for these normal costs or bother with the headaches of having to take your new dog to a vet for all these procedures. We strongly suggest that you complete the adoption application process before choosing a dog from our web page. Most of the dogs on this web page will have approved adopters already looking at them. We get new dogs on a regular basis. The application process can take a couple of weeks depending on your schedule. You will have access to all of our available dogs once you are approved to adopt a rescue dog. Please visit www.luckyshepherds.com for more information. Please note that we only serve the Greater Houston area. We do not adopt our dogs to homes outside of the Houston and its neighboring areas. ##2437324##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Mitzi, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
