[The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Polo takes some time to warm up, but once he does, he reveals a vibrantly energetic personality. Once outside the kennels, Polo`s friendly personality began to shine through. After a short introduction, he did well with another dog. Although he showed interest in being around her, he didn`t indicate that he wanted to play; when she walked away, he attempted to follow her.Back inside, Polo exhibited signs of anxiety, pacing and avoiding handling, especially when I touched his feet. His tail was tucked, and he appeared uncomfortable. However, he improved during other activities, demonstrating an understanding of `sit` and `come.` He was hesitant to engage directly in play but did show interest in a small stuffed toy and chasing a ball.
