My story

Elmo tolerates some attention and petting but has the potential to become overstimulated and may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.A volunteer writes: There's something about Elmo's bright eyed and big open pawed approach to the world that makes me take notice and want to join him. Whatever happens to be in front of Elmo is also his favorite and he loves it with his whole heart. I opened Elmo's condo door and he immediately hopped down from his Kuranda bed and started purring. Suddenly noticing his food (that had been there all along) he began snacking, taking breaks to look up and to delightedly ask through his purrs if I've tried it because it's just so delicious. Then it was time for playtime, which is a whole event in and of itself. Waving both paws and reorganizing his blankets in enthusiastic pursuit of a pipe cleaner feather, Elmo predictably put his heart into it. Stretching out onto his side to rest his head into my hands, Elmo explained that his next project is his biggest yet - finding a forever family.
