My story

Casper’s story began at the Humane Society, where he was in isolation recovering from pneumonia. After rescuing him, we quickly took him to specialists who diagnosed him with Brachycephalic Airway Syndrome—a condition that affects his breathing and makes him prone to regurgitation and aspiration pneumonia. Thanks to a successful Soft Palate Resection surgery, Casper is now breathing easier and feeling healthier than ever—a true testament to his resilience. At Sky Sanctuary, we believe healing must go beyond the physical. Our mission is to help dogs heal emotionally, too—restoring their confidence, security, and joy. Casper recently started a Board and Train program with our trusted partners at Paddock Paws Pet Care and Training to work on building emotional stability and overcoming his separation anxiety. During training, we also discovered that Casper is deaf—something that helps explain some of his past anxieties and behaviors. This discovery has allowed us to tailor his training specifically to his needs, and he is truly thriving. Casper is now learning hand signals and new ways to connect with the people around him. His sweet, goofy spirit shines through every step of the way. His medical challenges are behind him, and now he’s ready to find a forever family who will embrace him completely—just as he is. Casper is a lovable, playful boy who will keep you smiling with his silly antics and tender heart. He’s ready to give his whole heart to the right home.
