My story

Pippa is a silly, affectionate 2.5 month old terrier mix that weighs 12 lbs. She is estimated to be around 40-45 lbs once she is full grown. Pippa is one of those pups that just melts in your arms when you pick her up. She loves to be doted on and cuddled, and will shower you with sweet puppy kisses in return. She loves everyone she meets and is truly a social butterfly that immediately seeks affection from new people. Her love language is definitely touch, and she finds every chance she can take to curl up next to her human to get belly rubs and kisses. She is pretty laid back and independent, so when it comes to playing and entertaining herself, she's really good about keeping herself busy with her toys and chewies when her foster mom is working from home. She likes to spend time curled up in her foster mom's lap while she's working and occasionally will even pop her cute little face in Zoom calls to say hello. When she's done with her cuddle sessions, she finds a comfy dog bed to curl up on and plays with her toys until she falls asleep for a nap. Her gentle and sweet nature makes her the perfect companion for a family that that wants a laid back, cuddly, loving pup that is always up for going on fun outings. Pippa is low to medium energy, so she is the perfect mix of active and laid back. She's pretty mellow during the day while her foster mom works and loves to lounge around on a dog bed near her desk or cuddle up on her lap. She does have short bursts of energy that require play time and mental stimulation activities like puzzle games, playing with the resident dogs in the yard, and rummaging through the toy box to play with a variety of toys. She is working on socialization training with her foster mom and will ride in a puppy pouch as she walks the larger dogs around the neighborhood. She loves to just look around at everything and takes it all in. She is still working on building her confidence in the big outside world, but her curious nature helps her come out of her shell quickly. She would love a family that enjoys both lounging on the couch cuddling and also spending time outdoors. When she's not playing with her toys or doggy friends, she loves to just lay on the porch or in the grass sunbathing and snooting around in the grass. She is really good at self-entertaining by playing with her toys. Give this girl a toy box full of squeaky toys, ropes, chew toys, and more and she will keep herself entertained majority of the day. She would benefit from having a Bark Box subscription and a toy box with a variety of toys to choose from in her forever home. Puzzle games and lick mats with peanut butter are great ways to keep her busy indoors when it's cold and rainy outside, too. As she gets older and masters leash training, she would be the perfect pup to take on outdoor adventures exploring nature to experience the world around her. As she gets older and masters leash training, she would be the perfect pup to take on outdoor adventures exploring nature to experience the world around her. Pippa is dog, cat, and kid friendly. She loves to play with other dogs of any size and age, and is currently in a foster home with dogs ranging in size from 7 lbs. to 70 lbs. and ages 2 months old to 12 years old. She likes to observe the older dogs in her foster home and will cuddle up next to them when they settle onto a dog bed. She is very respectful of their boundaries and won't trample over them when she's playing with her brother. She is always gentle with the two chihuahuas and knows to give them personal space when they aren't in the mood for any puppy antics. She would benefit from having another friendly, playful, and confident dog in her forever home so that she can continue learning from as she grows. She has been introduced to cats and doesn't mind them at all. She would do best with dog-friendly cats that have lived with dogs before as she is a puppy and will want to play with them. Pippa would do well with kids of all ages as she loves to be cuddled and loved on, but she is going to start teething soon, so keeping lots of chew toys and doggy bones around to redirect her with is important. Since she is very sweet, gentle and affectionate, but also super playful, she would do great with a family with kids who want a fun-loving pup to play and snuggle with. She loves to receive affection from her humans in the form of belly rubs, ear scratches, and cuddles. She will give you the sweetest puppy kisses to show how much she loves you in return. Pippa is kennel trained, potty trained, and is still working on leash training. She sleeps in a kennel at night with no fuss as long as she gets a yummy treat and some toys to keep her busy before she falls asleep. She will not make a peep until she's ready to go potty in the morning. When she gets older, she would love to snuggle up in bed with her humans every night so she can get in as many cuddles as possible. She is doing well with potty training since transitioning to going potty outside. Every morning she runs straight to the backdoor and waits for her foster mom to let her outside to potty. When she needs to go outside to potty she will linger by the back door and wait patiently, and she is still working on alerting but usually puts her paws on the door as a signal she needs to go. As long as she gets a set schedule going outside every few hours for consistent potty breaks, she doesn't have any accidents inside on the potty pad by the back door. She is still learning how to walk on a leash, but is making good progress. She will walk up and down the sidewalk in front of her foster home, and soon her foster mom will work on taking her around the block to practice more. She will need some more practice perfecting her leash walking skills in her forever home once she is adopted. Pippa's ideal home would be a house with a fenced in backyard to run around and play in. She would do well in an apartment, condo or townhouse if her human works from home or can take her to a doggy day care or even a dog-friendly office during the day. No public dog parks for this sweet girl, but she would love to have fun adventures at Sniff Spots occasionally for playtime/exercise if she does live in an apartment or townhome without a private yard. She would also benefit from going to doggy day care so she can make new puppy friends while also burning some energy if you work outside of the home during the day. She would do love to have a family that has other dogs and kids, and would coexist well if there's a kitty in the home too. She does need to have someone home most of the day or that can take her into the office if working a hybrid schedule as she continues working on mastering potty training. She really just loves to be with her humans, and wants to spend as much time as possible cuddling and spending time with them. Pippa is in a foster home in Austin, TX. She can be adopted and transported to the following cities/states: https://www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/transport-locations Pippa's total cost to adopt is $500, which includes a $300 adoption fee and a $200 REFUNDABLE spay deposit.
