My story

Aggie PKA Mariska is fostered in Lafayette, IN.   Looking at her photos, you can see what a gorgeous little girl Aggie is, but her looks don’t begin to rival her character! Aggie is a funny and incredibly intelligent 2 year-old MiniatureAussie. She is the perfect balance of brain and brawn!  The versatile Aggie is super people oriented and social; amiable and curious. This pup absolutely loves to participate in family activities, but is comfortable entertaining herself, too. (She’s big into toys and stuffed bones.) With typical Aussie exuberance, eagerness to please, and intelligence, Aggie has the potential to be a great agility dog, hiking partner, farm hand, or world's greatest confidant. Aggie knows sit, down, stay, come, shake, sit-up-and-ask, and other commands. (Leash manners are a bit rusty.) Aggie has decent house manners and is reliably housebroken.  Her naughty pranks include occasional attempts at counter surfing and “gardening” (aka hole digging). Nothing a little guidance and maturity can’t fix. It should be noted that, while Aggie enjoys a good romp with fellow canines, she has a high prey drive around smaller animals (rabbits, birds, and some cats), so they would not be good housemates. She is in a foster home with other dogs but we feel she would love bbeing an only dog.  Aggie has been crated in the past and reportedly was comfortable sleeping in her crate, however, her curret foster home has not been regularly crating her.   Aggie’s vitality and family-focus would make her a wonderful companion for an active individual or couple.  Aggie's adopter should have some herding dog knowledge/successful experience, be able to patiently guide and lead a smart and occasionally stubborn pup, continue training and engaging Aggie in physical and mental stimulation; and have a physical fence. Aggie will make a WONDERFUL companion dog in the right environment. She is super bright and eager to learn, and super friendly to adult humans.  Does this charming and bright little girl seem like the one for you?  Aggie is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations and receiving monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm purchases for current or previous pets is required to adopt from our rescue.   NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2061682##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt 0609 Aggie PKA Mariska, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
