My story

Hello my name is James T Kirk and I'm a Pyrenees mix with estimated birthdate of August 2024, that is full of love and is a gentle giant.  I'm a very well behaved boy that loves being around and playing with other dogs and I even do well with cats. I currently am in a home with a dog and two cats and wow they are all great. I make sure to respect the kitties and give them space. When they do say hi to me I'm always so gentle.  I love to follow my foster parents around and keep an eye on them. You never know when they may need to stop and give me pets. I've also lived with young kids and was amazing with them.  I'm what they would call "house trained". I know how to hold it, I hold it overnight and when my foster parents are out of the house just fine. No accidents for me!   I do stay in a kennel when I'm home alone. Safety first of course. I do have a little bit of anxiety when my foster parents leave the house, I can get a bit upset and cry for a bit. They're very tech savvy people that check in on me throughout the day with a camera and said that I do settle in shortly after. I take a good nap all day. When I first came to them the first week was the toughest since I was scared and unsure about what was going on. I made the most noise, it's important to know that going to a new home is tough for us puppies and can set us back a little bit but with patience we get better. I HAVE gotten so much better in the crate already saying goodbye.  I do sleep in my crate, I go in and out of it fine, I understand it's not a bad place. I just miss my humans.   I love going for long walks. I'm a very big boy, so I've been trained on slip leads and have been working on my leash manners. This is coming along for me and going well. I'm very friendly and want to say hi to everyone, so sometimes I will pull. I do well in car rides and going places as well.  Some super goofy things about me... I don't love to jump up onto things. I'm a bit unsure about it so if I have to jump high into a car some encouragement and help is needed. Same with getting on the bed, I do want to be in the bed with humans but worried about the leap. I do sleep in my crate but I love to cuddle and take naps with people.  I've been told by many people that I have a great demeanor, that I'm SO SWEET, and a handsome boy.  I'd love to live in a house with another dog and or some cats to keep me company.   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
