My story

Lady is a sweetheart looking for a fresh start. She was surrendered by her previous owner who could no longer afford her care. Despite the change, Lady has shown resilience and a gentle spirit from the moment she arrived. Upon intake, Lady was easily leashed and loaded into the truck with no signs of aggression, though she initially appeared a bit unsure—understandable for a pup in a new place. In her kennel, she has been consistently soft and friendly, approaching with a wiggly body, soft eyes, and a low wagging tail. Out on walks, Lady is easy on leash and loves to soak up affection. She’s even been known to gently climb into a volunteer's lap just to get closer for some cuddles and kisses. Volunteers describe her as “smiley,” affectionate, and incredibly sweet. She’s also shown great manners around other dogs, calmly ignoring them when walking past. Lady may do best with a slow and gentle approach at first, but once she trusts you, her affectionate personality truly shines. If you're looking for a gentle, loving companion who's ready to shower you with affection, Lady may be your perfect match. Videos: Lady wants cuddles, not treats: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/6eLuTFMEOGg?feature=shared Lady enjoys cuddles: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/uIU0n3YTroc?feature=shared Happie and Lady: https://youtu.be/MmvXogatxM0 Behavioral: Play group notes 6/19: good greetings, steerable, timid, curious, nervous, over correcting Per volunteer 6/19: Lady is sure to brighten your day with her smiles and sweet demeanor! This easy going girl enjoyed walking with us and getting pets. She didn’t even want a treat and instead came over to cuddle. She was easy to remove from her kennel. She walked through the building, unfazed by all the barking dogs. She walked well on the leash and was low energy overall. She was also easy to return to her kennel. See her photos and videos! Per volunteer 6/18/25: I could not walk past this girl when I saw her sweet face! Her personality is just as sweet. She just wanted to cuddle up, gives kisses, or just look at me! She has such a smiley face and is really so sweet. Per staff 6/18/25: APO stated that Lady gave him a whale eye & froze for a minute when he approached her. She seemed unsure but showed no aggression. Using caution should have probably said 'go slow" Per volunteer 6/18/25: Loose and wiggly in the crate, easy to leash with ears back tail low wagging, loose body soft eyes. Walked on a loose leash, solicited lots of attention from the handler and gently came up on my lap for petting and attention, mouth open, soft, panting, soft eyes, ears back, low tail wagging very loosely. Pass by the dogs in their outside runs in the welcome center, and she was unfazed and ignored them. Easy to return to her crate and remove the leash. Green Per staff 6/17/25: dog is excited, officer able to leash and out in truck with no aggression but, use caution ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia.
