My story

Meet Candyland ACCT-A-212292! This sweet girl is as delightful as her name! With her loose body, soft eyes, and happy nub wags, CandyLand is always ready to greet new friends. he loves attention, frequently coming back for pets after exploring her surroundings. Super excited for treats at first, she quickly learned to take them more gently over time. If you're looking for a loving and affectionate companion, CandyLand is ready to bring joy to your home! Eligible for rescue, foster, and adoption. Meet Candyland at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or email foster@acctphilly.org to express interest in fostering. VIDEO: Candyland catches treats! https://youtube.com/shorts/wApcxt6qnNw Behavior notes: 02/03/2025 Day Trip note: Candyland appeared nervous and shy at introduction, but was not aggressive. Candy land was a sweet gentle girl the entire visit. Candyland pulled slightly when we first walked out of the building and an few times on the walk when there was random food trash on the street. The rest of the walk she was a pleasure to walk with, staying close to me. We maintained a slow, leisurely pace; allowing Candyland to sniff and explore the area. We walked down to the corner of West Hunting Park Ave and Rising Sun Ave. She walked without issue back to the Parking lot of the ACCT facility. I opened my rear passenger car door and offered Candyland the opportunity to get in and go for a car ride. She sat next to my car calmly, but stared at the ACCT facility. We sat patiently next to my car for sometime, with occasional efforts to persuade her into the car; but I decided to let Candyland to lead me back into the facility. 02/02/2025 volunteer notes: Candyland was a very lovely girl. She was very affectionate and loved getting attention and petting. She was not reactive towards other dogs and was good on the leash. She appreciated getting treats. 01/30/2025 staff notes: KENNEL PRESENTATION: Candyland was wiggly in kennel. When the handler called to her she came to the door and licked her through the cracks. She had soft eyes and was very easy to leash, especially given her cone and was patient! LEASH SKILLS: Pulls moderately HANDLING : Candyland was sweet in the room and had a loose body, soft eyes, and nub wags when greeting us. She would approach both of us for pets often, exploring the room in between before coming back to us for more attention. She was tolerant of full body pets without any problems, although at first was a bit unsure of handling on her hind. She could be a bit snatchy with treats when first excited, but as time went on she was more gentle. PLAY: No interest TOYS No interest Medical: On 1/31 staff noted: “Full thickness wound at base of right pinna, lateral aspect. Bilateral mildly foul smelling black debris AU. Calculus 2/5 overall. MS / Int - underweight, bones are prominent. Minor surface abrasion with a flap of skin (1cm) hanging from the edge of the lateral left aural pinna. On the caudal aspect of the lateral base of the right ear, there is a full thickness 2cm long and 1.5cm wide wound exposing underlying granulation tissue and cartilage. There is pus and dried blood covering the wound. There is significant inflammation associated with the wound. When cleaned, the granulation tissue is not bleeding much, even when scrubbed vigorously. Probably would do better with surgical fixation.” On 1/29 staff noted: Friendly. Full thickness wound at base of right pinna, lateral aspect. Gums are pink and moist, Bruising on the gums line by the top right K9.
