My story

Howdy from Texas! I’m a pretty German Shepherd mix, about 7 months old, 36 lbs, and my name is Jelly. I was a stray puppy picked up by the San Antonio city animal shelter and promptly placed on their euthanasia list due to a lack of space. It’s tough in Texas for dogs, but thankfully, I am too cute and too sweet, so 4 Little Paws Rescue took me in and placed me in a foster home until I can hit the rescue dog lottery by finding a forever home. My foster mom wants everyone to know that I am an awesome girl. Smart, sweet, affectionate, happy, playful, soft, and pretty. I have gobs of puppy energy for playtime and fun adventures for when we are off on a walk or a hike, or whatever fun day we have planned. I enjoy meeting new people, a bit shy at first with new doggy friends, and can easily make friends with a kitty cat, no chasing involved. I love the grass and running zoomies, playing with soft or chewy toys, and sometimes your slippers… oops! I adore attention from my humans and my doggy “siblings,” and I match everyone’s energy very nicely, human, dog, or cat. I am affectionate and playful, love kisses, and will follow you around to see what you're doing. I only bark to alert you, and I do not guard my food or my toys. I am well-behaved for home nail trims and ear cleaning. I am housebroken on a schedule, and when you let me outdoors, I am like Speedy Gonzales taking care of all my potty business! I have excellent recall and already respond to verbal commands like “sit” and “come here.” My future looks bright and I hear many wonderful families on the East Coast would be happy to have a sweet girl like me, so I can't wait to meet them and get my life started! Inquire about me today! * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Jelly, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
