My story

HITCH is a little goofball, and we mean that in the best possible way. He's a happy-go-lucky little fluffernutter, about 1 year old and fully grown at just 13 pounds. He's brimming with puppy playfulness. Hitch is a Heinz 57 varieties-type mixed breed dog. He landed in a rural shelter with little chihuahua mix boy Hopper, who we suspect may be his father, but beyond that we can't begin to guess the breed mix. He has a soft, fluffy, medium length coat. Hitch loves to run and play with his foster siblings, loves to fetch and does his best to sneak his stuffy toys outside. When playtime is over Hitch is a world class cuddler. Hitch is best suited to a home with another playful dog and room to run. He's a bit of a stinker with kitties so no cats for Hitch. He's housebroken and crate trained. If you'd like to meet Hitch, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Hitch at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate if he's still available. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.
