My story

đŸ¶ 🐕 DOLLY Female Border collie mix approximately 2 Years, 45 lbs & AVAILABLE – check out more photos and see the rest of our dogs on our website -- https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ 🐕 đŸ¶ DOLLY, our 2 year old, 45 pound, blue-eyed Border collie mix, is deaf but you would never know it by observing her. She lives a very normal and easy-going life. And yes, we talk to her ALL THE TIME, whether with our voices or our hands. She loves people and will attach to you like Velcro. She is happiest when cuddled up with her person(s) on the couch or lying at her foster dad’s feet (like now) when he is typing away on his computer. She is happy and content anywhere that you are in sight. She lives for being petted and giving kisses, though when you’ve had enough, she is happy simply to have had the attention. While walking around the yard she is never too far away. Turn a corner and she’ll pick up the pace to again have you in view. If you open the door to let her out, and don’t go with her, she’ll wait by the door and stare until you come out. DOLLY is crate trained. She willingly goes into her crate for meals, down time, and bedtime. As long as other dogs are with her in the dog room she’ll settle nicely after a couple minutes and sleep quietly all night. If left alone she gets anxious, so we are looking for a home with another dog, or dogs, that are chill and accepting / nurturing of others to help her settle and learn the routine. When it’s time for her day to start she is happy, smiling, and ready to go. She bounds out of the crate and either grabs a drink of water or stares you down until you open the door and head out with her. Going potty is always first on her mind, as she heads to her spot, sniffs around, and takes care of business. DOLLY is house trained with never an accident since arriving at her foster home. She is very much a creature of habit and will need a consistent routine. DOLLY enjoys a lot of free time while in the house, but the cats really get her riled so she is crate bound when it’s their time to roam. Because of this, DOLLY will need a cat free environment for her to have her best life and for the cats’ safety as well. She is not that interested in bones or toys. She is, however, both treat and praise motivated, so her continued training should be a lot of fun. DOLLY travels very well. She is quiet in her crate and does not get car sick. She has been to the vet a handful of times and the staff LOVES her. She also went to the groomer just prior to her picture day and did really well, both while crated and waiting, and during the whole process. She wasn’t quite sure about getting water poured all over her but was great for the rest of her spa day. If you are looking for a moderately active cuddle-bug of a Border collie that you'll want to spend most of your waking hours with, and you have other welcoming dogs in your household, Dolly may be just the girl for you. DOLLY is micro-chipped, spayed, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (https://norcalbcrescue.org/adoption/adoption-application/) and wish to inquire about DOLLY, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. DOLLY is fostering north of Corning in Tehama County, CA.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt DOLLY, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
