My story

Meet Francine – The Sweetest Little Survivor 💜 Francine is a 2- to 3-year-old, 13 pound lovebug with a heart full of joy and a tail that spins like a helicopter every time she sees her people. When we began fostering her, she had a serious leg injury (her leg was likely caught in a trap) that ultimately required amputation. But don’t let that fool you—Francine has made an incredible recovery and gets around just fine on three legs, especially in the yard where she loves to explore. She’s incredibly sweet and affectionate, with the cutest little vocalizations when she’s excited or wants attention. Her favorite things include gentle pets, chicken, soft grass, and following her humans around the house like a tiny shadow. Francine is currently being fostered in a home with other dogs, however, she has been a bit slow to warm up to them! At this point, we understand she’s still decompressing and also has undergone a major surgery so we aren’t sure yet if she prefers to be the only dog in the home or if she just needs more time to settle in. She’s been able to go on walks with her four legged foster siblings and meet briefly in the backyard, however, she is not able to safely interact with them in the house yet! Francine may be best as the only dog in a home, or with someone who is open to doing very slow separation and integration down the line. She also has some difficulty navigating stairs and slippery floors, so a home with limited stairs and plenty of carpet or rugs would be ideal for her. She’s a resilient, loving girl looking for someone who will adore her the way she’ll adore you.
