My story

Meet Elphie! 9-year-old Elphie’s owner moved out and left her and her brother behind tied to a fence. The landlord discovered them, but unfortunately, her brother ran away. Elphie was taken to San Bernardino City Animal Control in May and kenneled with two other large stray dogs. She persevered, where kennel stress is high and disease runs rampant in overcrowded shelters. On June 16th, we made sweet Elphie a Frosted Face. As you can see in the video, her tail happily wags as she enjoys being in our play yard. Elphie is SO sweet, gentle, and affectionate. She loves to give kisses, is good with other dogs, and is very patient with the young children she has met on-site. Elphie is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, giving us the perfect chance to learn more about her personality in a cozy home environment—while she soaks up plenty of love and comfort. Her Fling Mom reports: "Elphie is a lovable pretty pittie with a big heart and an even bigger appetite for snackies. Elphie is sweet and dog-friendly. She’s mostly non-reactive around other pups and just wants to do her own thing. We’re working on her leash manners, she currently pulls and likes to zig zag while walking. Elphie is a total velcro dog! She loves being close to her human but surprisingly doesn’t seem to have any separation anxiety. She’s been sleeping downstairs on the couch and snoozes through the night without a peep. So far, we've been learning that gently waiting for snacks is acceptable, and smooshing slobbery pittie jowls directly into my plate is NOT. She's also learning that counter surfing is not allowed. Elphie is pretty mellow and quiet throughout the day, and I've only heard her bark in the backyard once. More updates soon!"
