My story

Come meet this absolutely adorable short and stocky pittie mix at our Zona Rosa location. This is Flicka, who we estimate to be about 1-1/2 years old. She can be a bit shy at first, but she has a huge and friendly smile just the same. During her first few days at Zona, Flicka has had a complete transformation! Flicka spends most of her time at the front of her kennel, putting her puppy dog eyes expertise to work! Flicka is treat motivated, which may have helped her come out of her shell. She`ll do best with someone who understands the patience and calm that help a shy dog thrive, despite her ability to adapt well. Flicka walks well on a leash. She can`t wait for her forever family to find her and take her home!Like all our adult dogs, Flicka will need to meet future canine companions before going home. Our shelter staff will lead their introductions in a safe environment to see if they are compatible. Come fall in love with her at our Zona Rosa location, the set up introductions if you already have dogs at home.Did you know that black dogs are often overlooked in the shelter? They are oftentimes the dogs who stay in shelter care the longest and are chosen last. Break the stigma and adopt a black dog today. Remember, black dogs are the best dogs.
