My story

This sweet boy loves people and has lived with kids from elementary age and up. He loves to cuddle and stay close in case you`d like a `chat` and is a big fan of toys; he spends much time prancing with a toy `du jour` for you to admire. He`s happy relaxing on the couch or supervising backyard activities - as long as his people are involved, he likes to be involved! He`s described as incredibly smart and will even invent games and activities that are quite entertaining!Chief has lived with another older dog and cats! Should you have a dog at home who needs a friend like Chief, our shelter staff will help introduce him to be sure everyone gets along, just like they do for all the other dogs here.Chief recently went on a Dog Day Out adventure and came back with a glowing report. According to his host, `I was lucky enough to spend a dog day out with Chief. Chief is an amazing rider in the car and will sometimes suggest letting himself sit as a passenger prince. Chief enjoyed walking everywhere and anywhere whether it was a yard, park, cafe, or in a home-as long as he’s with you of course. Chief is the sweetest dog and is very respectful even if there are other reactive dogs nearby. He is friendly with everyone and anyone who will stop by and give him pets. I stopped to get home McNuggets that he enjoyed fresh but once cold was not very tasty anymore. However, sweet treats were different, anytime he was offered a pup cup, he graciously licked it all up. Chief enjoys walking but can match your pace very well and maintains his energy well even with the crazy heat. Chief is such a sweet and lovable gentleman that deserves all the patience and kindness that he gives to the world!Chief is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. Email foster@kcpetporject.org to meet him!His ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED! We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possible. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are deteriorating in the shelter environment, or who are harder to place find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Chief, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
