My story

Meet Cora, a playful pit mix who’s the perfect combo of fun and chill—she’s got medium energy, a big heart, and just enough sass to keep life interesting. Cora’s happy to play, go for walks, and then crash on the couch like a champ. Her version of playtime can get a little enthusiastic with clothing nibbles. She’s not trying to ruin your outfit, she’s just got feelings and a lot of ways to show them. A little training and consistency will go a long way with this spirited gal. She’s incredibly affectionate, a world-class cuddler, and a total lovebug with her people. Some of Cora’s best features include: • 🚻 Potty trained – no mess, no stress. • 🛏️ Crate trained and settles in well • 🚶‍♀️ Lovely on leash – barely pulls (hallelujah!)... unless she gets caught up sniffing a Very Important Scent™, in which case she’ll channel her inner boulder and become completely immovable until she’s done taking notes with her nose. She’s a little wary around new men—Cora prefers to take things slow with the fellas. She’ll whine a bit with male neighbors and keeps her distance from the Foster’s husband, but she walks right up to women with a tail wag and curious sniffs. As for her feelings on houseguests and cats... the verdict is still out. The foster's cat has taken one look at Cora and opted for witness protection. 😹 So we’re playing it safe until we know more! Cora is currently looking for a Foster-to-Adopt home while she undergoes treatment for heartworm. Her care will be covered by the rescue and includes: • 🐾 30 days of oral meds • 💉 One injection, followed by a month of crate rest • 💉💉 Two back-to-back injections and one more month of crate rest She’ll need to be treated at a vet partner in Grafton or Franklin, so local adopters are ideal. She's being treated for some skin issues too that we hope will resolve with time and good care. If you’ve got a heart as big as Cora’s and a soft spot for cuddlebugs in recovery, this girl is ready to give you all the love. Apply to foster-to-adopt Cora today—your snuggle life is about to level up. 💕 If you are interested in finding out more about Cora, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Cora is being fostered in Leicester, MA. The adoption fee is $300. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cora, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
