My story

Location: Mankato, MN Elmo is a sweet, playful pup with a big heart and an even bigger personality! She’s always down for an adventure—especially if it involves tug of war, her favorite game. Whether she’s hopping around the house with excitement or curling up in your lap for a nap, Elmo brings so much joy wherever she goes. She loves being outside, soaking up the sunshine, and going on little yard strolls where she can sniff all the things and (in true puppy fashion) try to sneak in a rock or two to chew on—we’re working on that. 😅 She also enjoys playing with other dogs and would love a home where she has the chance to socialize and play. That said, she’s also very content being the center of attention and does great on her own too—she’s happy as long as she’s loved. Elmo is still learning her puppy manners, including that humans aren’t for nibbling. She can be a little mouthy during play, but with gentle redirection and consistency, she’s making great progress. She’s also getting used to her crate. With her Kong toy and a cozy spot to curl up, she settles in pretty well—especially when she’s had enough exercise and is ready to snooze. Sometimes she’ll bark after she finishes her treats, but on tired days she’ll go right to sleep. She’s been found hanging out in her crate with her toys, and while it’s not her first choice of sleeping spot (she’d happily snuggle in bed if given the chance!), she’s learning it’s a safe, calm place to relax. Potty training is still in progress, but she’s on the right track and doing well with routine and structure. Elmo would thrive in a home that can offer her patience, playtime, and lots of love. She’s equal parts goofy and affectionate—and she’s so ready to find her forever people. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
