My story

** $330 in pledges for the rescue that pulls ** ** Philadoptables will generously donate $350 to the rescue that pulls! ** ** Interested foster through rescue! ** ** New medical notes on 6/13 ** ** Extended! ** Teddy Roosevelt ACCT-A-222568 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to medical concerns. Teddy must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER by Sunday, June 15th at 10AM. Should Teddy’s medical or behavioral status change, her urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Due to being significantly overcapacity with animals and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted. If you are interested in an animal please contact ACCT Philly immediately. Teddy Roosevelt is an approximately 4 year old domestic shorthair that came into the shelter as a sick stray. His finder said that he is “friendly, shy, scared, quiet, there are usually too many cats arouynd for him to relax”. Teddy’s finder had also observed him coughing and sneezing frequently in the colony that he lived in. At the shelter, Teddy has been shy but sweet, and very tolerant of handling even though he doesn’t feel well. Teddy needs a rescue that is able to give him more medical care than ACCT can currently provide, and preferably some TLC. Here is what staff and volunteers had to say about Teddy: Medical: NEW! On 6/13 Doctor noted: "Assessment: Signs of URI still present, patient normothermic, deemed stable. Plan: Extend timestamp for another 48 hours." On 6/10 Doctor noted: “Quiet, alert, responsive. Ceruminal debris AU. MMs light, stomatitis of caudal buccal mucosa. Serous nasal discharge, upper respiratory congestion. II/VI parasternal systolic murmur, increased BV sounds bilaterally, crackles ausculted right side, primary inspiratory dyspnea. Abdomen palpates softly and without pain, no organomegaly appreciated. Combo: (-) XR: Marked aerophagia, increased abdominal serosal detail, mild pulmonary bronchial pattern. CBC: Neutrophils 12.11 (H) Chem: Glucose 222 (H), K 2.9 (L), TP 9.6 (H), globulins 7.1 (H), GGT 11 (H) Ketometer: 0.3 mmol/L Assessment: Inspiratory dyspnea, URI Stomatitis Hyperglycemia r/o transient Hypokalemia Hyperproteinemia characterized by hyperglobulinemia Elevated GGT, mild Interstitial dehydration” On 6/10 staff noted: “ Teddy Roosevelt presented to the back office due to heavy breathing coughing/sneezing. Bright, alert, responsive. Mild pain. Ears were waxy. Some clear nasal d/c, no ulcers found, teeth yellowing, gums red/slightly dry, foul odor from mouth. No live fleas found, small patch of hair loss on left forelimb. Assessment: Aerophagic” Behavior: On 6/10 staff noted: “Teddy is a shy, sweet boy. He is very congested but still allowed pets.” Videos: Teddy Roosevelt Gets Pets https://youtube.com/shorts/GrfCufCbM00?feature=share Due to limited space, timestamps may also be proceeded with early so it is imperative to let us know if you are considering adopting or tagging an animal. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Please visit www.acctphilly.org/adopt for details. If you are a rescue interested in pulling this animal, please email our lifesaving team, or visit here if you are not currently a rescue partner: https://acctphilly.org/acct-philly-love-local-partnership-program/ Confirmed placement is considered a confirmation of an actual rescue pull. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent. All animals at ACCT Philly are from Philadelphia, as the only open-intake animal shelter in Philadelphia, we are not able to accept animals from outside of Philadelphia. ACCT Philly's Pennsylvania kennel license number is 08313.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Teddy Roosevelt , please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
