My story

Freddie’s Compatibility:Dogs - Bring your pup for a meet & greetCats - No cats for FreddieKids - Best with children 6 and upFreddie is a sweet, snuggly boy with a heart that just wants to feel safe. He was found abandoned in a park with a couple of other dogs, and ever since arriving, it’s been clear that what he wants most is comfort and kindness. The shelter is just too much for him, and it’s been hard on his little spirit. But take Freddie somewhere quiet, and you’ll see the magic. He melts into you. He leans his whole body in. He gives you those big, soulful eyes like you might be his person. In an office, he’s calm, gentle, and completely focused on soaking up every bit of love he can. He takes treats with the softest mouth and gently nudges your hand when he wants a little more affection.Freddie gets overwhelmed by chaos, especially on leash, so a calm home with a secure yard and a taller fence would help him settle in. Walks can come later, once he knows he’s home. He might enjoy a dog friend after slow introductions, but he’s not a match for cats. Because he’s still learning how to feel safe, we’re looking for a home with kids aged 6 and up who understand when he needs a little space.Freddie isn’t difficult. He isn’t broken. He’s just waiting for someone to say, “You’re safe now, and I’ve got you.” He’s ready to give his whole heart to someone who will finally keep it safe.Come meet him. He’s kind of impossible not to love.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Freddie (in foster), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
