Meet Bella Babe – a scared and shy pup who is looking for a patient and loving home. Bella Babe was surrendered to the shelter based on allergies within her previous home. Her previous owners described her as a couch potato who enjoys walking and exploring outside but doesn’t care much for toys. They said she can be sensitive to being held. At the shelter, Bella Babe has proven to love the outdoors and although she’s nervous, she’s doing her best to be brave. Bella Babe met some other small pups during a playgroup and did well. Bella Babe is looking for a family (maybe with a dog sibling) who can be patient and go her speed. She appears to open and warm up quickly- if you give her the chance! Since she was located on one of the top kennels, I wanted to assess how she would be before I picked her up. She walked right over into my arms and had a very gentle demeanor. She allowed me to pick her up and carry her outside. Once we were on the grass, she had a little pep in her step and enjoyed exploring the outdoors. She was definitely still a little nervous but warmed up as time went on. When we made our way back inside to her kennel, she wasnt a fan of getting picked back up to go into the kennel. I think mostly it was because of how nervous she was. I did get a towel to wrap around her to ensure both of our safety which worked well. I really do think that once she is able to be in a more calm environment, she’ll be much more comfortable. 06/14/2025 volunteer notes: Bella was SO shut down in her kennel at first and barely moving. I picked her up easily and carried her outside. At first she just stood next to me and didn’t move, but she slowly started sniffing around and peed and pooped. Once we moved out of the run and into the grass she transformed into another girl! She is so so jaunty and fun and follows you on the leash. She’s such a good girl and so loving and affectionate and trusts easily once she comes out of her shell. What an angel! ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in.
