Dvorah is a sweet, sensitive girl who’s looking for a calm and patient place to blossom. Nervous and unsure in new situations, she may hang back or avoid interaction... but with time, patience, and a pocket full of tasty treats, she starts to let her guard down. Once comfortable, Dvorah shows her gentle side, leaning in for companionship and appreciating kindness. She walks nicely on a leash with minimal pulling and tolerates handling without complaints. Dvorah prefers a quieter home where she can take things at her own pace, grow in confidence, and learn that the world can be a safe place. Meet sweet Dvorah at ACCT Philly any day of the week between 10 am and 6 pm VIDEOS Playgroup 6/17: Leela, Kyler, Dvorah https://youtu.be/_UBgLMl57JM Playgroup 6/17: Leela, Kyler, Dvorah, Loba https://youtu.be/uOtVCfQcyzo Playgroup 6/17: Leelah, Kyler, Dvorah, Loba, Hailey https://youtu.be/N_URwshbodU Playgroup 6/17: Leelah, Kyler, Dvorah, Loba, Hailey, Mouse https://youtu.be/P6wKdzX0VTI BEHAVIOR Walk sheet notes: Dvorah was taken for walks on 6/14, 6/17, 6/22, 6/23, 6/24, 6/25, 6/26, 6/28, and 6/29. During their first walk on 6/17, Dvorah was noted to have mild issues leaving and returning to kennel, very mild issues with shyness, and low energy. Volunteer 6/22- my heart was so sad seeing Dvorah. She was so sad and nervous in her kennel. She was hesitate at first to allow me to leash her just because of how scared she was. But once the leash was on, she came out of her kennel without any issue. When we were outside, she walked great on the leash but her tail remained tucked the entire time. She wasn’t interested in any toys or treats. I really hope she can find her forever home to finally build the confidence and comfortable life she deserves. 06/17/2025 staff notes, playgroup: Dvorah was fearful outside the yard waiting to be collared. she was nervous around the handlers and was not steerable. in the yard she was a bit curious and avoidant. she remained tolerant of the other dogs and was in her own world. she stayed more on the backside of the run just looking around. 06/14/2025 volunteer notes: Dvorah is a sweet, shy girl. It took me a few minutes to get her out of her kennel but she really seemed to like the beef pattie treats. I was able to loop her by placing a treat in the kennel. She needs a few minutes to hop out but I just continued to give her treats. She walked really well on leash with minimal pulling. She loosened up in the yard as she was a bit tense coming out. In her kennel she did some lip licking and would point her ears back. Outside she would often sniff around but she would come over to me, not soliciting pets but sought out the comfort of company. She allowed all over handling with me. I had no issues returning her to kennel. 06/13/2025 medical staff notes: rechecked temperament of patient today at 3:30pm . patient was observed shaking/trembling in kennel. when I approached kennel patient would start lip licking and retreat to bathroom side of kennel .I closed the divider and approached from other side. Patient became more nervous , when I attempted to place leash on patient she snapped at it and started to bear teeth whenever I made any advance . will start on medication and attempt again . 06/12/2025 medical staff notes: Patient is nervous , but by no means is an aggressive dog. Use caution when handling ,TTA slip in kennel bag . starting medication . only became fractious after rabies vaccination . ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in.
