My story

Meet a boy as sweet as his name! Oreo is a young boy full of love and full of excitement- he loves to make new friends and is sure to greet them with a whole bunch of tail wags! Oreo was surrendered to the shelter when his owner had a baby and no longer wanted him. It's not an ideal situation, but this boy is making the best of it and trying to find the fun in any situation! His former owner said he lived with a cat, is crate trained, cuddly and enjoys running and getting pets! Oreo is now available for adoption at ACCT Philly. He should go to a patient owner who is open to working on training and containing all of that excitement! You can meet him any day from 10am-6pm! After leashing, he jumped out of the kennel and started jumping up on me. I applied some leash pressure and we were on our way! Leash: When we were walking, he was good on leash without much pulling. Sometimes he would get excited and jump up on me gently in the middle of walking. Nose was down for much of a walk in the grass. Some minimal pulling when he got whiff of a smell, but was very easy to guide. Handling: When I took treats out, he started jumping up on me, but got off when I would turn away. He definitely knows sit, take treats somewhat gently, but sometimes missed the treat and got my finger instead. It was all gentle but he has some puppy antics! When I took the treats away, he jumped up repeatedly seeking them out. Extremely jumpy and would playfully go for my face. He was very playful with a squeaky toy, and kept himself occupied head banging it around. Allowed me to go near him with the toy and reach for it without any guarding. He got pretty mouthy with play and definitely just needs some training on over stimulation. Good dog meet- appropriate approach with a medium level sagging tail and loose body and face. The other dog didn’t have much interest and he wasn’t too pushy to her. He got pretty mouthy with play.
