My story

Turkey is a 9 year old male Beagle mix with a heart full of love and a gentle, soulful nature. He is a super sweet and handsome little boy who clearly once knew the comforts of home, and it shows in the way he bonds so easily with people. Turkey thrives on human companionship and lights up when he's outside of his cage, showing off his calm, affectionate personality. He walks beautifully on a leash, and also enjoys leisurely jogs through the park as he greets dogs in adjacent pens with friendly curiosity. He even seems to get along with cats, making him a well-rounded companion. But Turkey’s absolute favorite thing in the world is being close to someone—curled up beside you, soaking in all the pets and attention. Invite him into your lap with a simple gesture, and he will happily oblige, settling in like he was always meant to be there. He radiates peace and comfort in those quiet moments, and his expressive eyes seem to hold a quiet hope, as if he knows his forever family is out there, ready to take him home soon. The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip. The hours of operation are: Monday through Wednesday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Thursday 12:30 pm till 6:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Saturday 9:00 am till 4:00 pm. The Carroll County Animal Shelter will be closed the last Friday of every month for deep cleaning, staff training, and animal enrichment.June 11, 2025, 11:28 pm
