Jonesy

My story

Jonesy ia an adorable 3 year old schnauzer possibly terrier mix and according to his foster mom she jokingly says he presents as a 40-year-old human male who expects other dogs to have manners and likes to lounge outside in a patio chair lol.  This guy has a rather big head and close to the ground with corgi like short legs and fluff butt...who knows his mix but we can all agree he is one cute sweetie and now just needs his forever family! Jonesy was located living as a stray covered in ticks. He clearly has had a home in the past, as he enjoys guarding his area and his people. Those owners did not claim him from the overcrowded shelter, and his Haven foster mom could not resist that face plus this boy has been brave through all his turmoil and is loving and fearless. Jonesy is particular about his dog friends, but not unreasonably so. He is interested in friendly dogs of all sizes who have been neutered and taught a few basic manners. He will play in the yard chasing balls, and he also loves to take a walk.  Jonesy has developed the reputation of mastermind in foster care because he likes to maneuver his entire body through the horizontal metal slats of an indoor gate that was designed to keep dogs in or out of the kitchen in his foster home. That being said, he does not show interest in leaving the yard when the gate opens...again a content 40 year old man! He loves kids and thinks cats seem fun, and he does not try to intimidate the senior cat in foster care.  We are just getting to know him, and we love him already. He finds a crate acceptable but doesn’t destroy things if left out of a crate, either. He would love to be the pampered prince of your castle. He is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, Heartworm tested, Microchipped, and on preventatives. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals.
