My story

Basil the beagle found himself at a full rural SC shelter but lucky for him we LOVE beagles at The Foster Dog House and had a foster open. Though he's estimated to be around 4 years old, Basil is making up for lost time and acts much younger. He is a busy bee and always on the move! Basil is a classic beagle and uses his nose to find any food which he will snatch if given the opportunity, is a built in alarm system and let's you know when someone is approaching the house, and despite those big ears he pretty much does what he wants. He is constantly under foot following his people who he loves to be with. Basil also loves toys, especially stuffies, so much so that he buries them in a "safe" place in the yard or corner of the house. Needless to say, Basil is a character and will keep you entertained if you've been looking for a companion. He is fostered with bigger dogs, sleeps great in his crate, and is housebroken. We would prefer adopters to have a fenced in yard. He has not been exposed to kids or cats so we can't say for sure how he'd react. Basil is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, kept on flea/tick/heartworm prevention, neutered & microchipped. The adoption fee is $300 which is paid as a donation to the rescue. If you are interested in adopting Basil please go to our website and fill out an application: www.thefosterdoghouse.org

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Basil, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
