My story

ROGER: Roger is a fancy guy, with good history living with young children, and he has good litter box manners! MEDICAL:Roger had a seizure under anesthesia for neuter. He was given an anti-seizure medication to stop the seizure, and was closely monitored after and recovered uneventfully. He should be monitored for seizure activity at home. It is likely his seizure was a reaction to his sedation.AREAS OF NEED:Roger will need a slow introduction to his new home - we recommend setting him up in his own space to start (an extra bedroom or bathroom, for example). Choose a space that people or animals do not have access to unless you are going in to clean or feed. He should be left alone initially as he adjusts. His space should include plenty of hiding places, ideally with access to a vertical surfaces as well like a cat tree or a cat-proofed shelf, and easy access to a litter box, food, and water. Once Roger is ready to move beyond the initial confinement space, his adopters should be prepared to give slow/incremental access to the rest of the home. This may involve small outings into the rest of the house with most doors closed, or simply allowing for access to one additional room at a time over the course of a few weeks (or longer). COMPATIBILITY:KIDS: YesDOGS: Possibly, no historyCATS: Yes (good history of living with litter mates)Stop by our Nevins Farm Adoption Center to meet Roger. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm- 4:30pm, No appointment is needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets. You are welcome to enter our cat rooms during open hours. Staff and volunteers will be happy to assist you!The MSPCA at Nevins Farm receives no state or federal support. We depend on kind and compassionate people like you to support our animals and programs. Please consider making a donation to help with our efforts here: http://www.mspca.org/nevinsgift
