My story

Meet Quota!   This boy came to us from SCRAPS after undergoing several weeks of crate rest, which he's officially graduated from and is slowly being allowed to exercise. He had a leg fracture on his right forelimb, and nearly faced amputation. The team at SCRAPS worked hard to save his leg and it seems to be a success so far. It's expected that he will continue to heal and will be able to hang onto his leg! He is currently receiving Dasquin joint supplements which he enjoys.  Quota has an estimated birthdate of 02/09/2022. He's a medium to large adult dog and weighs approximately 60lbs. Quota does well in his kennel and has had no potty accidents on his way out to the yard. His leash manners could use work, as he pulls fairly hard but does well with strong guidance some type of martingale or prong collar.  Quota has displayed strong prey drive, and will fixate on or chase small animals outside and inside the house, including cats. He redirects somewhat quickly with a verbal correction or squirt bottle but has never had access to the cats other than through the kennel. If his new family continues to work with him, he could excel at dog sports and would enjoy bike rides and other out door activities once he builds up his strength.   Quota will not do well in a home that does not plan to include him on activities and outings. He required a decent amount of enrichment and exercise to become calm so best not apply for him if you're looking for more of a couch potato. Quota does enjoy relaxing at home once he's gotten his energy out, however! He does currently display a bit of mouthyness when he's very excited or trying to engage in play with his foster. He takes corrections well in those situations and is learning what "no" means.  Quota does very well with other dogs, and we had shown us he also does well with children - he's a total lover! He does play very rough with other dogs so will need a dog-savy dog to live with. Once he's settled he has the sweetest personality, and really enjoys being right next to his people. Due to his reaction to the cats in his foster home, we must insist he go to a home with no cats or small animals.  Quota's adoption fee is $200. He comes home neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting Quota, please begin by submitting an application at www.murcismission.org. Thank you!  ##2423466##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Quota, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
