Murphy

My story

A28461 Murphy is an orange and white colored, approximately 2-year-old, 7-pound, neutered male, Domestic Long-Haired cat. He entered the shelter as an owner surrender on 06-07-2025 due to the fact his owner passed away and there was no family to take him. Murphy is a friendly, but timid and shy boy here at the shelter. He is new to the shelter environment and still trying to figure out why he is here. He stays in the back of his kennel right now and may even run to the other side if you move to quickly and startle him. He is going to need a patient owner who will give him the love and the time he needs to decompress and get comfortable in his new environment. We would recommend a home with no small children as their sudden movements and loud noise would probably be too much for him. He did come in with another cat and although they were not bonded, they got along fine. Our staff says he is coming around and will lean into your head and neck scratches now. In the playroom he went straight to a safe low cubby to watch the room from. Murphy will eventually be a loyal, loving companion in his new forever home.
