My story

What my friends at ACC say about me:Mr. Chips is a handsome and sensitive cat who is having a hard time adjusting to the shelter environment. When first approached, he was tucked inside his den with wide eyes and a tense posture. He was curious enough to sniff treats, but when the den cover was removed, he became overwhelmed and expressed his discomfort with hissing, growling, and stress meowing. Despite his nervousness, Mr. Chips still allowed gentle petting, even while vocalizing his stress. He briefly came out of his den and displayed a crouched posture before retreating again, showing us that he's trying his best to cope. He accepted more petting later, which shows promise that with time, patience, and a quiet environment, Mr. Chips has the potential to build trust and settle in. He'll do best in a home with experienced cat parents who understand fearful feline body language and can offer him the time and space he needs to feel safe.Mr. Chips tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
