My story

There is an adorable video of me on social media! Click here to experience the cuteness! Meet Low KeySurrendered by a short-term owner after just one week.Low Key is a goofy, treat-motivated, and sensitive young dog who's still learning how to navigate the world. At just over a year old and about 75 lbs, he's full of potential and searching for an experienced adopter who can help him build trust and confidence through structure, training, and positive reinforcement.🏡 My Ideal HomeLow Key would thrive in a quiet, adult-only home with a patient adopter who understands that building trust takes time. He's still working on his leash manners and adjusting to new environments, so a home with minimal hustle and bustle would be ideal. A predictable routine, a yard to explore, and someone committed to daily training sessions (with treats, of course!) would go a long way.👶 Good with Kids?No young children, please. Due to mouthy behavior and moments of fear-based reactivity, Low Key needs a calm, adult-only household where expectations are clear and interactions are predictable.🐕 Good with Other Dogs?Possibly! Low Key has shown soft, playful interest in other dogs at the shelter, including play bows and wagging tails. He may do well with a gentle, social dog after a proper introduction.🐈 Good with Cats?Unknown.🦮 Leash MannersLow Key sometimes freezes on walks and needs encouragement (treat trails are his jam!). He's not a big puller, but he's still learning the ropes and needs a handler who will be patient and consistent.🩺 Overall HealthLow Key is not yet neutered and slightly overweight, so a healthy diet and exercise routine will help him slim down. He's up to date on vaccinations and preventatives and has no known medical issues.🧠 Behavior Determination: Level 3Low Key has shown signs of poor impulse control (jumping, mouthing, hard staring when fearful) and will need continued training using only force-free, positive reinforcement methods. He's not a dog who thrives in a chaotic environment-but with the right person, he has the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion.🎉 One Fun FactWhen he's comfortable, Low Key is a total goofball-chasing tossed kibble, learning "touch" with impressive focus, and play-bowing with joy. He's the kind of dog who bonds deeply once he trusts you.💸 Adoption Fee: $75Low Key is looking for someone who sees past the nerves and into the sweet, silly dog underneath. If you're ready to offer structure, training, and plenty of patience, Low Key is ready to meet you-at his own pace. Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 66.5 Age: 1yrs 4mths 1wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Low Key, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
